By a deed dated September 9th in Bergen, William III, eighth bishop of Orkney, mortgages his dues of Shetland to Eilif, Archbishop of Nidaros, for the payment of 186 marks sterling, which should have been paid to the archbishop for six years' teinds.
In another document Bishop Audfinn of Bergen requests Bishop William to assist his priest Ivar in the collection of the Sunnive-miel, a contribution due from the Shetlanders to the shrine of St. Sunniva at Bergen.
