The vessel Engel Raphael, laden with a cargo of tallow, butter and oil, of Bremen, Germany wrecked on the 'Ness of Vatsetter'. Vatsetter, Yell is thought the most likely location, but other locations of the same or similar name cannot be ruled out.

The Hoeyfaert, a full rigged ship laden with a mixed cargo of linen, soap, deals etc, of Rotterdam, The Netherlands wrecked on Little Holm in the Bay of Quendale. All of the crew were saved.
