The Favourite (1805), a sloop operating as a trading vessel, carrying general cargo, passangers and mails, registered in Scotland, from Aberdeen, Scotland, and for Lerwick wrecked on Fair Isle.

- 21st
Battle of Trafalgar - Among the 18,246 men fighting on the British side there were 27 Shetlanders. Arthur Herwin (or Irving) was killed in action on board HMS Victory.
November
- The La Bonne Resolution, a full rigged ship, laden with a cargo of salt, of and for Danzig (now Gdansk), Poland from Liverpool, England wrecked at the entrance of Vaila Sound. All of the crew were saved.
