• 12th to 22nd
  Lerwick celebrates the 150th anniversary of the granting of its Charter as a Burgh of Barony. The events included a Civic Church Service in St Columba's Church, a variety concert in the Garrison Theatre, Athletic displays and an Army Cadet display in Fort Charlotte. At Lerwick Harbour, there were displays by the Fire Brigade, the Coastguards L.S.A. and the Lerwick Lifeboat. The week culminated with a Carnival Procession and open-air dancing in Fort Charlotte.
