Agnes Hobbin (nee Goudie), was born in 1921 at Geosetter, Bigton. She is the youngest half-sister of Annie Deyell by her father's second marriage. She trained as a nurse, starting her career with World War II and continuing as a district nurse based at the Bridge of Walls until her retirement.

Her book A Peerie Peek at da Past, ISBN 1-898852-69-3 was published by the Shetland Times, Lerwick in 2000, and is a collection of her personal memories from growing up on a croft as a child, through the many changes in the profession during her nursing career, to working in a local shop/Post Office.
