The Ark, a vessel laden with general cargo and passengers in passage for the 'North Isles' (presume this probably refers to the North Isles of Shetland ie. Unst, Yell etc, as opposed to the North Isles of Orkney, or the Northern Isles ie. Orkney and Shetland, but the record does not state which), foundered with the loss of all aboard at an unidentified location, on or before January 12th 1712.
