Böd of Nesbister
Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia
The Böd of Nesbister, in Whiteness was built by Hay & Company in 1844. The beach was used to dry fish on before export.
It is now restored to a camping böd, reopened to the public in 2004; the most characterful of the camping böds, with a stunning view as far as Trondra to the South (if the fog clears), surrounded on three sides by the Voe of Nesbister.
The interior is basic and captivating, with a very special atmoshpere.
