Bigton, a part of Dunrossness, is a small village on the west side of the south Mainland, approximately 18 miles from Lerwick.
Bigton's most famous landmark is St Ninian's Isle where the St Ninian's Isle Treasure was found in 1958. The island is joined to the Mainland by a sand tombolo, which separates St Ninian's Bay and Bigton Wick.
Other things of interest is Bigton Kirk, built in 1905 and Bigton House, built in 1788 by John Bruce.

Bigton was home to the author Elizabeth Balneaves in her retirement.
