The kirk in Bigton in the Parish of Dunrossness, was built in 1905, and opened on July 30th.
At about the same time the Fair Isle Kirk in the same parish was built, and the Parish Minister, William Brand, ( Parish Minister from 1865 to 1911 ) was the man behind the fund-raising for both kirks.
Total costs for both kirks was less than £2000.
