Bixter is a small village in the centre of the west Shetland Mainland. The main housing estate is called Lingaro. The village has a shop & post office with fuel pumps, a veterinary surgery, and a health centre.
At the west end of Bixter stands Park Hall, a now derelict, 20th Century, doctor's residence.
