Bonafide
Shetlopedia - The Shetland Encyclopaedia
The Bonafide (alternatively Bonafida or Banofide), a wooden hulled barque, laden with 700 tons of coal and 69 barrels of coal tar, 511 tons gross, built 1865, Owner O. Johnsen, Arendal, Norway, registered in Arendal, Norway, Captain Ellefsen, Ellifsen or Elefsen, thirteen crew.
While in passage from Bruntisland, Fife, Scotland to Arendal, Norway this vessel is presumed to have wrecked on Sumburgh Head, believed to have been in the vicinity of "Cru Geo" (Croo Geo), on the west side, in SE Force 9 wind conditions during the night of February 9th/10th 1883.
No-one observed the vessel prior to or at the time she struck, but lights had been noted in the vicinity. It is presumed she quickly went to pieces on the rocks in the stormy conditions with the loss of all aboard, as all that was discovered was wreckage strewn along the coast, which included some ships papers, allowing an identification to be made.
