George Waterston

George Waterston, former Scottish Director of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Waterston purchased Fair Isle in 1947 and in 1948 he co-founded the Fair Isle Bird Observatory.

In 1955, ownership of Fair Isle passed to the National Trust for Scotland.
