Hamnavoe

Hamnavoe, (Old Norse : Hafnavagr = Harbour Bay ), is the main village on the island of West Burra, and lies on the shore of Hamna Voe. In the past Hamnavoe was an important fishing village, but the downturn in fishing effort means that there are only a few shellfish boats operating from there now.
Plans are currently underway to install a small boat marina.
