Hugh Leigh

Rev. Hugh Leigh, A.M., was a graduate of King's College, Aberdeen, and became minister of Bressay, Burra & Quarff in 1672. Suspended from his duties in 1702 for beating his wife, he was reinstated in 1704 and served until his death in 1714.[1]
His writings include:
A Geographical Description of The Island of Burray, 1654
A General Geographical Description of Zetland (date ??)
He was a correspondent of Sir Robert Sibbald, who freely quoted from Leigh's writings in The Description of The Isles of Orknay and Zetland printed in 1711.[2]
