J. R. Durham, or Doctor James Robertson Durham, was born on September 6th, 1911 in Lerwick, and died on May 4th 1993. He was General Practitioner in Scalloway for some years.

His book Night and Day: Recollections of an Island Doctor, ISBN 0900662611, was published in 1988 by the Shetland Times, Lerwick. 82 Pages, Paperback, with a number of black and white photographs.
