Laxo is a small settlement at the end of Laxo Voe in Vidlin, north east Mainland.
The ferry from the Mainland to Symbister on Whalsay, operates from the nearby Laxo Ferry Terminal, which is located roughly 1km east along the side of Laxo Voe.
North of Laxo is the Hill of Laxowater and a 1km long loch called Laxo Water which is a good trout fishing location.
Laxo House, a distinctive white house with black corner stones, used to be the the water baliff's house.
