Lerwick Baptist Church

The Lerwick Baptist Church, in Clairmont Place, Lerwick, was built in 1894.
William Fotheringham was appointed Minister in 1917.
On 18th March 2008 the Lerwick Baptist Church submitted a planning application for a new £1.2 church, to be built at the Quoys housing estate. The new church, including a café and rooms for use by community groups, is expected to be completed by 2010.
The existing building at Clairmont Place has been sold to the Hjaltland Housing Association for conversion to flats.
