The Liberty (INS2211), a wooden hulled lugger fishing vessel, 14 metres length, 18 net tons, owner and Captain D. Main (alternatively Muir). Hopeman, Elgin, Scotland, eight crew, and registered in Hopeman, Elgin, Scotland, in passage from Lerwick to Hopeman foundered at a position approx 25 miles E of Sumburgh Head/NE of Fair Isle on September 4th 1905. The majority of the available records are in agreement that the incident occured in 1905, but it is not certain, with 1904 being offered as a possible alternative.
