The Nor, a wooden hulled barque, 40 L x 9.01 B x 5.08 D metres, 450 Tons Gross or 446 GRT (the available records are in dispute). Built 1862 in Nantes, France, owner Nor, Acties. Kragerø, Telemark, Norway, registered in Kragerø, Telemark, Norway, Captain Svensen or Svendsen, ten or thirteen crew (the available records are in dispute).
During the severe storm on February 16th 1900 which claimed numerous vessels, the Nor, in passage from Liverpool, England, to Copenhagen, Denmark with a part cargo of coke, but by then in a disabled condition, drove on to Ura Baa, Wick of Fluig(?), South Nesting Bay during ESE Force 10 wind conditions, and was wrecked with the loss of all hands.
