A new form of 'Public Art' in Shetland is a series of stained glass windows, created by Andy and Fiona Foley, which have been installed in derelict buildings as part of the Creative Links Project, co-ordinated by the Scottish Arts Council.
Two of the windows, pictured here, have been installed in the ruins of an ex military building on Compass Hill, near Sumburgh Airport.
A third window, installed in an old shed near the Dunrossness Primary School, has been inspired by the story of Betty Mouat, who drifted alone to Norway in the smack 'Columbine', in 1886. This window has been developed by the artists in conjunction with children from Primary 5 at the Dunrossness School.
