Sumburgh (Old Norse: Sunnan Borgr = South Broch ), is in the southern part of the Shetland Mainland. Many people refer to the Virkie area as Sumburgh, when infact the only places which can legitimately use the name are Sumburgh Airport, Sumburgh Farm, and Sumburgh Head.
