The records, as usual, make no mention of which country a named port belongs to, so I've left Frederickstadt countryless, mainly because, as far as I can gather there's one in Norway, and there is/was one in Holland/Germany?? Googling isn't proving much help in a process of elimination, so any input welcome.

The Pekela of those days is todays Oude Pekela about 40 miles east of Groningen close to the Dutch-German border; it was one of the Dutch centres of the development of galliots; by channels linked with the river Ems and the Dollart.
Frederickstadt is Friedrichstadt/Slesvig-Holsatia, originally a 17th century foundation of Dutch settlers called into the country by the Dukes of Slesvig-Gottorf. Situated on the banks of the river Eider it was an important harbour for the England trade of those days exporting billions of bricks to build the "exploding" industrial centres like Newcastle, Manchester or Liverpool. Until 1864 Danish when the town was taken by Prussian troops. Today it is one of the nicest rural towns in northern Germany; see here Islandhopper 02:16, 24 November 2007 (MST)

Thanks for that Islandhopper, a little knowledge and the slightly different alternate spelling makes all the difference. I *think* I follow most of that, but it's late now tonight, so I'll re-read all again tomorrow and amend the entry once I'm sure I have the gist properly.
