The link to the teachers pack is not on the pupils page ... from there you have to switch to "home" and then to scroll down to the very end ... a bit of work for the kids at least ... :-))) Islandhopper 18:21, 8 March 2007 (MST)

Hadn't seen that before.:-)))))) That must be the most inaccurate website in existence.
I can't get any of their mail links to work, or I would have mailed them links to real information. I think it's my silly email system that's the problem.
Thx for the laugh.. :-)

This is shockingly inept. I was aware that they had lost their way in this field over the years (they were at one time quite expert in the field though not quite at the Roskilde level), but to be so amateurish is incredible. It is the statement about the number of planks which is worst.

I really do feel that they need to be corrected. The page is a complete embarrassment.
I've tried their email links again, but got nowhere. Could somebody else try to see if it is their links, or my system which is wrong. I was just going to give them links to our pages which would show them the error of their ways. I was going to include the picture of the boards on a Sixareen in the hope that their ineptitude didn't negate their ability to count. ;-)
Our pages should give them a lot of detail,, even The Scotsman has been using our pages for research in the last few days, so they can't be too bad. ;-)

I'm probably not seeing it for looking at it, but I can't find any email link specific to contacting them with general enquiries, there's one for making bookings, another if you want to become a sponsor or member, and one to use to email details of a specific page to someone else.

Which link were you trying to use?

Ghostrider 12:37, 9 February 2008 (MST)

The one which looked best was the one through the link below the picture, on the next page: picturelibrary@nmm.ac.uk
Although I did try the other ones for the hell of it. I think my email system has gone yudders up today, as I can't even email regular contacts. :-(

Okay, found it eventually. The first one I came across didn't like me and started casting up Error 404 messages, but went round in a circle and found another that seems to work.

It's at a time like this Shetlopedia email addresses would be handy, I'll have to email from one of my own accounts, as they don't appear to have on "in site" messaging system. I don't know how seriously they'll take a message coming in on a freebie Yahoo address, some folks just consign them to the Trash unopened.

It's worth a try anyway. Just emailing them links to the Sixareen, Yoal and boat part pages along with a note that they might want to check their information against expert local information would be enough to make a start, shouldn't it?

[Edit] Well, it's been sent, and it's not bounced back yet. So, time will tell.

Thanks Ghostrider.
